The Appointments

What you are actually buying.

The word appointment is used loosely in this industry.

A directory sends you a name and calls it an appointment. A lead vendor books a fifteen minute call with someone who ticked a box at midnight and calls it an appointment. A seminar company fills a room with people eating a free meal and calls every one of them an appointment.

We are precise about what the word means.

The prospect

Who the prospect is

A Highwater appointment is with a UK adult aged 50 to 65 who has told us, directly, that they hold £250,000 or more in investable assets or pension savings and are actively considering their financial position.

They are not browsing. They are not vaguely curious. They are at the point in their financial life where the decisions in front of them are the most consequential they will ever make.

Drawdown Pensions Retirement Inheritance ISAs

The decisions that determine whether the wealth they have spent a lifetime building works properly for the rest of their life.

These are not people who need to be convinced that financial advice matters. They already know it matters. What they are looking for is the right person to deliver it.

The source

How they found us

We run paid advertising on Meta. The advertising is educational in nature. It addresses the specific financial questions people in this position are already asking.

Questions about pension drawdown. About what happens to their money when they stop working. About whether their current arrangements are as tax-efficient as they should be. About what they are likely to need in retirement and whether what they have built is enough to provide it.

The advertising does not promise returns. It does not make claims the FCA would not approve. It starts a conversation about something the prospect is already thinking about.

When someone responds, that response is the beginning of our qualification process. Not the end of it.

How qualification works

Every response goes through a structured qualification process built around conditional logic.

Prospects work through a series of specific questions. Each answer determines the next question they see. There are no shortcuts through it and no way to skip the steps that matter.

Attended appointments Exclusive to you · one batch

If a prospect does not pass all four checks, the process stops. They do not become an appointment. There is no pressure on us to fill a quota. The only thing that matters is whether the appointment is worth your time.

What you get

What the batch covers

Ten attended appointments at £800 each. £8,000 committed upfront. The batch is not finished until ten qualified prospects have shown up. A booking that does not become a meeting does not count. We absorb that. You do not.

One fee, one batch, six things in it. No add-ons, no upsells, no retainer. This is everything the £8,000 covers.

01

Ten shows

Ten attended, pre-screened appointments per batch, exclusive to you. One firm per region for the life of the batch, so the prospects we introduce are not handed to a competitor at the same time. Bookings that do not result in an attended meeting do not count toward the ten. The batch continues until they do.

02

Qualified prospects

Every prospect has cleared all four qualification checks before the appointment counts toward your ten. The detail of each check is set out above; what you get here is the outcome of it.

03

A written briefing

Before each meeting you receive a briefing note: the prospect's name and contact details, their financial position as they described it, the specific reason they are seeking advice, and any context about their circumstances that helps you prepare.

04

Meetings that suit them

Held by video or phone to begin with, whichever suits the prospect. In-person can be arranged later, directly between you and the client.

05

No-shows do not count

If a prospect does not attend, that appointment is not added to your ten. There is nothing to report, no window to hit, no process to navigate. The batch simply continues.

06

Clear terms

£800 per attended appointment. £8,000 for the batch, committed upfront. Governed by a short written agreement for that batch alone. No retainer. No lock-in.

Everything above is the batch. The one thing it does not include is a guarantee of clients won.

What a briefing note looks like

Before every meeting you receive one of these. The note below is a sample: the details are invented and the identifying fields redacted. A live briefing names the prospect in full.

What we do not guarantee

We do not guarantee that every appointment converts into a client. That is your job, not ours.

What we guarantee is straightforward. Your batch is not complete until ten qualified prospects have sat down with you. The cost is £800 per show. The number of bookings it takes to get there is our problem, not yours.

Run your own numbers

What one batch could be worth

We sell appointments, not outcomes, so instead of a claim here is a calculator. Set your own assumptions and see how the recurring advice fees from a handful of new clients compare with the one-off cost of a batch. Every default is drawn from published UK figures, cited underneath.

1 batch · 10 attended appointments

Each batch is 10 exclusive shows for £8,000.

20% · about 2 of 10

A conservative assumption. Real conversion depends on your firm, not on us.

£250,000

FCA 2025: the typical advised client holds about £250,000.

0.80% a year

Charged each year on assets you manage. The UK norm is about 0.5% to 1%.

1.00% one-off

Charged once, up front. Optional; set it to zero to leave it out.

7 years

SJP 2024: a typical advice relationship runs about 7 years.

One-off cost of the batch£8,000
First year (initial fees plus one year ongoing)£9,000
Over 7 years, kept at today's fee£33,000

£4,000 a year that returns, against £8,000 you pay once. An illustration you control, not a forecast or a promise.

This is an illustration, not a forecast. The figures move entirely on the assumptions you set above. Conversion depends on your proposition and your follow-up; Highwater does not guarantee a conversion rate, a number of clients, or a return. You are paying for ten attended appointments per batch, not for clients won. The multi-year total assumes you keep each client and their portfolio holds steady; real retention and markets will move it. Advice fees are yours to set and are shown before any product or platform charges.

Default figures, UK sources: ongoing advice fee about 0.8% a year, FCA evaluation of the RDR and FAMR (2020), consistent with the Schroders UK Financial Adviser Survey (2024). Typical advised client holds about £250,000 in assets, FCA, Understanding the advice market: financial advice firms survey (2025). Relationship length about 7 years, St James's Place Real Life Advice Report (2024 consumer survey, not an adviser-firm average). The conversion rate is a conservative assumption, not a Highwater figure.
